Gina is the youngest of 10 kids who all talked at once. To get a word in, she started writing at age 8. After writing more than 60 books and articles, she won an Emmy Award for historical drama, and holds Master's degrees in history and screenwriting.
Based in Williamsburg, Virginia, DeAngelis finds spooky inspiration in America's "Historic Triangle" and is passionate about amplifying the unheard voices of the past. She writes historical and contemporary stories in which the unlikely heroes suffer from estrangement and isolation, and ultimately build diverse found families. Even her darkest horror stories (so far) are ultimately redemptive and life-affirming.
Her work is consistently recognized and supported by the Nicholl Fellowships, Austin Film Festival, PAGE Awards, CineStory, Screencraft, Stowe Story Labs -- and was performed live for Queen Elizabeth II.
